A Florida-based Gen Xer made over $300,000 in 2023 secretly working multiple remote tech jobs. AdvertisementIn 2021, Robert was making roughly $180,000 a year from his tech job, but when his workflow slowed, he feared a layoff may be coming soon. AdvertisementThe Gen Xer, a Florida resident, is among the "overemployed" Americans who are secretly working multiple remote jobs to boost their incomes. Aside from family and travel, Robert said he spends most of his money on food and his home. Read previewThe Supreme Court ruled unanimously on Monday that Donald Trump is eligible to run for president again, quashing legal challenges that loomed over the GOP frontrunner's candidacy for office. Instead, the court effectively foreclosed almost any challenge to a federal office holder under Section 3 of the 14th Amendment, the insurrection clause. "Today, the majority goes beyond the necessities of this case to limit how Section 3 can bar an oathbreaking insurrectionist from becoming President," the justices wrote. The Supreme Court had never before issued a ruling on the post-Civil War era provision known as the "insurrectionist clause." The Supreme Court is set to hear separate arguments in April over whether Trump can be criminally prosecuted for election interference charges, including those stemming from his role during the January 6 attack on the Capitol.

A Florida Gen Xer made over $300,000 secretly working three jobs in the tech industry. AdvertisementAfter being laid off from his tech job in 2019, Robert wanted two things: job stability and multiple sources of income. By 2021, he'd found a remote job that he said paid $180,000 a year and had a part-time gig that was bringing in an additional $2,000 a month. He went looking for other remote jobs and landed one that paid $190,000 a year. Robert said his overemployment journey likely wouldn't have happened if the pandemic hadn't led more companies to adopt remote working arrangements.

Donald Trump on Monday lashed out at the financial monitor overseeing the Trump Organization and urged a judge to fire her days after she reported a range of issues — and flagged a questionable $48 million loan — in the former president's New York civil business fraud case. New York Attorney General Letitia James has asked Engoron to order that Jones continue to monitor the Trump Organization for at least five years as part of his judgment in the case. Robert made that argument three days after Jones submitted a report to Engoron accusing the Trump Organization of providing incomplete, inconsistent or incorrect information about its financial disclosures. In a footnote in that report, Jones said she identified a loan between Trump himself and an entity related to Trump Chicago Tower that later turned out not to exist. She also seeks five-year bans with the same conditions for Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, who took over the Trump Organization after their father became president in 2017.

The other was a school board candidates forum that drew a full room in October. Since then, the school board has hired its own private security to stand guard at meetings. Lunden Roberts, the child's mom, accused him of mischaracterizing his wealth in a child support suit. A judge has ordered Biden to appear in court next month to answer Roberts' questions. Although he initially denied paternity, Biden said he has since paid Robert's more than $750,000 in support payments for her. Biden has asked a judge to reduce his $20,000-a-month child support payments, and not grant Robert's petition to change their daughter's last name to Biden. U.S. President Joe Biden, a Democrat, had campaigned on overturning Trump's hardline immigration measures before taking office in 2021 but kept Title 42 in place for more than a year. A federal judge last month ruled Title 42 was unlawful in response to a lawsuit originally brought by asylum-seeking migrants represented by the American Civil Liberties Union. Hours later, Chief Justice John Roberts in a brief order issued a stay that will leave Title 42 in place until further notice from the court. DHS last week updated a six-pillar plan that calls for the expanded use of a fast-track deportation process if Title 42 is terminated. In El Paso, shelters have struggled to provide for arriving migrants even as many ultimately are headed to join relatives in other parts of the United States.
REUTERS/Jordan VonderhaarWASHINGTON/CIUDAD JUAREZ, Mexico, Dec 19 (Reuters) - The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday said COVID-era restrictions at the U.S.-Mexico border that have prevented hundreds of thousands of migrants from seeking asylum should be kept in place for now, siding with Republicans who brought a legal challenge. AL RAYYAN, Qatar, Nov 26 (Reuters) - Poland coach Czeslaw Michniewicz praised his side and striker Robert Lewandowski after their 2-0 win against Saudi Arabia on Saturday and said that with a bit of luck his top man could have ended the game with a hat-trick. Lewandowski scored his first ever World Cup goal after he missed a penalty in their opening draw with Mexico, and was visibly emotional after finally finding the net in his second and possibly last World Cup. Today Robert could have scored a hat-trick. "We were looking for a second player for Lewandowski, but one who would fill the spaces. We knew that Robert plays high, very narrowly, and we needed a player who runs around," Michniewicz added.
For my book, "Raising an Entrepreneur," I talked to 70 parents who raised highly successful people. When I asked them what skills they taught their kids at an early age, there was one in particular that they all agreed on: curiosity. As parents, we all want to raise confident, fearless and resilient kids. They encouraged their kids to fix things. Robert's curiosity for how things worked started when he was a young boy, when he unscrewed all the doorknobs in his parents' house.
They were paying $750 a month for the lot in a mobile-home park and couldn't fathom paying $7,200 a year for homeowners insurance, let alone additional protections for floods. (Flood insurance costs an average of more than $600 a year in Florida and can stretch even higher in high-risk areas.) But just 57% of those homes are covered by flood insurance, a Bank of America analysis of data from CoreLogic and the National Flood Insurance Program found. Some owners may not even know that they need a separate insurance policy for flooding, assuming it's covered by their homeowners insurance. Roughly a dozen firms that provide homeowners insurance in Florida have gone under in the past two years, The Washington Post reported.
